CIE Revenue Bounces Back
In the UK, Chime's Insight & Engagement Group (CIE) has restored its revenues to the record 2012 level of £13.6m, after a substantial drop to £11.0m in 2013.
The 2012 figure was boosted by the Olympics, and the latest result suggests the division is making good progress.
The CIE division includes digital specialist Watermelon, qual recruitment arm CherryPicked, fieldwork agency Facts International, and full service agencies Opinion Leader and CIE. During the year, CIE operating profit increased 10% to £3.1m from £2.6m in 2013.
CIE CEO Crispin Beale (pictured) comments: 'This has been another exceptional year, and I am extremely proud of the hard work and commitment shown by the teams across all areas of the group. As we win new clients and deliver more work for existing clients we are expanding the team to ensure we continue to deliver to our clients' growing needs.'
For the group as a whole, Chime has posted an 18% revenue rise to £198.9m (2013: £168.0m), while operating profit was up 24% to £32.2m (2013: £26.0m). Income from overseas offices increased by 53% in 2014, and as a percentage of total income increased from 18% in 2013 to 24% in 2014. In a statement, the firm said international expansion continues to be a major part of its growth strategy.
