P&G Switch from IRI to Nielsen
Procter & Gamble, one of the world's leading fmcg companies, has announced its intent to purchase US market share data from ACNielsen effective July 1, 2003. Financial details were not disclosed.
'This decision is a reflection of ACNielsen's commitment to developing a market measurement solution that provides an accurate and comprehensive view of our brands' success in the marketplace,' said Rob Steele, president of P&G's North America market development organization. 'We look forward to leveraging ACNielsen's solutions to help P&G stay in touch with our consumers.'
As a result of this announcement, P&G will end its US relationship with Information Resources, Inc. on June 30, 2003. 'We have enjoyed a mutually beneficial and productive relationship with Information Resources, Inc. the past 9 years,' added Steele. 'We continue to have a tremendous amount of respect for IRI's organization, capabilities and product offerings and are open to exploring a potential relationship in the future.'
