Channel 4 Names Head of Viewer Relationship Management
UK television broadcaster Channel 4 has promoted Charlie Palmer to the role of Head of Viewer Relationship Management, to drive the consumer-facing element of its data strategy.
With more than eleven million registered viewers - including half of all 16-34 year olds in the UK - Channel 4's data strategy focuses on growing viewer connectivity through its digital service All 4 using personalisation and participation to deepen a two-way relationship with the audience.
Palmer (pictured) most recently served as Group Marketing Manager, overseeing all marketing activity for E4, comedy and entertainment, All4, and social media. In his new role, reporting to Gill Whitehead, Director of Audience Technologies & Insight, Palmer is responsible for championing and leading the broadcaster's viewer relationship strategy, and all direct viewer communications. He replaces Steve Forde, who is joining ITV as Director of Marketing and Experience, ITV Online and On Demand.
Commenting on Palmer's appointment, Whitehead said: 'Charlie brings a combination of creative flair, brand instinct, and deep experience in digital and social media marketing. I am really looking forward to working with him to take our viewer relationship strategy into its next phase.'
