BuyingIQ Acquired by Software Firm Girnar

In India, Girnar Software, the parent of online auto trading platform CarDekho, has acquired shopping engine BuyingIQ.com, in a bid to bolster its data and analytics services. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 2012, Buying IQ offers a price comparison portal providing data-driven buying recommendations. The firm attracts more than 1.2 million users every month via its web site and android app.

Through BuyingIQ.com, users can obtain a 'BuyingIQ Score' on products they are interested in buying, using a system that analyses millions of curated product reviews crawled from all over the Internet. Users can also use the platform to compare prices from online stores, read reviews from its tech community, get product recommendations, and set product/price alerts.
