Funds for Location Specialist Kiana Analytics
In Silicon Valley, USA, location-based marketing company Kiana Analytics has secured more than $1 million in venture capital financing.
The money comes from Plug and Play Ventures, Sand Hill Angels and Hawaii Angels, as well as a number of individuals, and will help Kiana develop its technology, which uses in-store analytics and social WiFi data to produce real-time actionable insight for retail clients including shopping centers, amusement parks and event facilities; and to trigger specific promotions and communications accordingly.
Kiana's CEO and co-founder Nader Fathi says the firm delivers 'much-needed big data analytics with an array of triggered outcomes, from crowd control to surveys or unadvertised promotions, making it worthwhile for visitors to opt in.' Fathi says the technology 'accurately detects 100% of WiFi-enabled unique visitors and has already connected with more than 17 million mobile devices' - a figure the company expects to triple this year.
Sand Hill Angels VP Ralph Eschenbach says Kiana is 'right-timed to market with one of the most powerful analytics engines we've seen and endless use cases that increase conversion and loyalty for several industries beyond retail'.
The company was founded in July 2013, has additional offices in Germany and is online at www.kianaanalytics.com .
