TechTarget Launches Research Division
US technology publisher TechTarget has launched a Research division, and hired former Gartner/Jupiter exec Ken Male to lead it.
TechTarget currently has access to pre-deal data on approximately 60,000 enterprise IT deals annually, and generates more than 13,000 IT buyer survey responses monthly. The new TechTarget Research division will tap into this data to develop new intelligence and reports around technology adoption, market share, vendor performance and other topics. Technology vendors and the institutional investor community are among the target clients.
Male (pictured) joins as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Research, with more than 25 years' experience in the IT industry. He previously founded technology advisory and research firm ThinkPro, which he sold to technology industry analyst The 451 Group in 2011. After starting his career at EMC Corporation, he held senior level positions at research and analyst firms Gartner, Jupiter Research and Giga Information Group, and most recently he led worldwide benchmarking and data strategy for tech business management solutions specialist Apptio Corporation.
Male says of the launch: 'The scale and geographic reach of our network will provide tremendous fact-based research and insight and we look forward to having TechTarget Research provide a new level of transparency to the IT industry.'
