Big Data Specialist Flytxt Raises $11m

Flytxt, which offers big data analytics solutions to the telecoms sector, has secured an $11m round of funding, which it will use to market its mobile consumer analytics solutions to new industry verticals, and to double its headcount.

Launched in 2008, Flytxt offers revenue and customer experience management solutions for communication service providers (CSPs), helping them generate economic value from their existing data, and in total its patent pending technologies generate insights and recommendations from more than 500 million mobile consumers. The firm is headquartered in the Netherlands, has additional offices in Dubai, and a presence in India, the UK, Singapore, Africa and Mexico City.

New funding was led by Sunrise Capital and Big Data Investments, with participation from Flytxt's existing investors in Germany and the Netherlands.

Company Chairman Joerg Swoboda (pictured) says the company 'already has a unique standing in the big data analytics market with a sustainable business model, proven technology, impressive customer base and an exceptional team', and adds: 'the potential is huge'.
