Indian Launch for Kantar Mobile and Tech Panel
Mobile and technology panel division Kantar Worldpanel ComTech has launched a new consumer panel in India, consisting of more than 20,000 individual members and said to represent more than five hundred million people.
The panel targets the influential and growing Indian urban population of age 15 and over, building on Kantar Worldpanel's long term partnership with sister company IMRB International, and will complete 100,000 interviews a year covering purchasing behavior, usage, billing, carrier and vendor brand awareness and preference for mobile phones and tablets. Reporting will commence in October.
ComTech already covers the five biggest European economies, plus Russia, the US, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, China, Japan and Australia. MD Nic Lewisohn comments: 'Projections show that India will soon be the second largest smartphone market in the world after the US. We believe our longitudinal service provides the most detailed, consistent and reliable data for our clients, both vendors and carriers, enabling them to take full advantage of the opportunities this vast market represents. By covering 18 out of the 22 Telecom Circles, our panel will provide critical, decision-grade information for minimizing risks and maximizing ROI in one of the most complex telecom markets in the world'.
