Sysomos Buys Social Media Marketing Platform
Social media analytics specialist Sysomos has acquired marketing platform Expion for an undisclosed sum, and is planning a recruitment drive and new offices.
Expion's social media marketing software enables marketers to manage, optimize and distribute content, to drive engagement and sales in real-time. The acquisition of Expion adds content management and publishing capabilities to the Sysomos data-driven analytics platform. Sysomos CEO Lindsay Sparks says this expanded access to customer conversations will allow his company to provide clients with insights into common customer characteristics and motivations, and help them more effectively create and distribute content.
Following the transaction, the combined company plans to more than double headcount, to 500 members of staff by year-end. Additionally, it will expand to ten cities in six countries, adding offices in Singapore and Shanghai, as well as on the East Coast of the United States.
