International Research Paper Award

ESOMAR has announced the winner of the award for 'The Best International Research Paper presented at ESOMAR events during 2002'.

Where can the 'crouching tigers' leap next? How can market research companies in Asia benefit from a 'global world order'? was presented by Ramachandra Golikere, Research Manager, Consumer & Market Knowledge, Fabric and Home Care, ASEAN Australasia India Region, Procter and Gamble (Asia) Pte. Ltd., Singapore. The paper was selected for its highly innovative and though-provoking approach and for its enormous potential impact for the future financial structuring and rewards of certain sectors of market research. Overall, it shows the research industry being refreshingly flexible, nimble and realistic: not a provincial, inward facing industry but truly global in its thinking in this area.

This award entitled 'The John and Mary Goodyear Award', carries a prize of EUR 3,500 and is sponsored by NFO Worldwide. An international jury of marketing and industry experts selected the winning paper from a shortlist of 24 submissions.

The award winning paper, together with the 23 nominee papers, will be published in the ESOMAR Yearbook entitled 'Excellence in International Research 2003'. The book will be available shortly.
