Verint Buys Online Community Specialist Telligent

In the US, speech and text analytics specialist Verint Systems has acquired Texas-based social media software firm Telligent, which specializes in powering online communities and enterprise social media networks. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Telligent's software provides social media collaboration tools including forums, wikis and blogs, as well as likes, ratings and comment services. The technology was acquired by messaging and collaboration solution specialist Zimbra two years ago.

Verint says the acquisition will help it extend its customer engagement optimization portfolio, adding customer communities as part of the platform and with links to engagement management, customer analytics and workforce optimization.
