Scripps Invests in Consumer Intell Startup Cintric
American broadcasting company E.W. Scripps has invested $500k in location data and consumer intelligence startup Cintric, which helps retailers and brands analyse consumers' behavioral data and target them with personalized messages.
Launched in Cincinnati, Ohio last year by Erwan Lent, Joel Green, Rhett Rainen and Connor Bowlan, Cintric collects and analyses location data from mobile device users, and then enables clients to target audiences and measure the effect on actual consumer behavior.
Adam Symson, SVP and Chief Digital Officer for Scripps, says the investment will help his firm unlock the data for its audiences and advertisers across its portfolio of television, radio and digital media brands, which reaches nearly one in five US households. Bowlan says the investment will help his company bring 'cutting-edge consumer and location intelligence to the world'.
