DAT and GfK Form Vehicle Data Partnership
European auto industry information provider Deutsche Automobil Treuhand (DAT) has partnered with GfK to create a range of new products for car dealerships, manufacturers, importers and end consumers. The pair will also develop joint services covering the entire life cycle of a vehicle.
The combined service will provide data relating to vehicle information prior to market introduction, configuration of new vehicles, valuations for used cars, repair cost calculations and vehicle recycling. Initially, it will cover new cars, used cars, fleet business, and after-sales retail.
CEO Products Thilo Wagner says GfK's new vehicle data will fit well with DAT's current offer, while his company will benefit from GfK's global reach and market access. Gerhard Hausruckinger, who is a member of GfK's Management Board, adds: 'Together, we can offer dealers, manufacturers, fleet managers, banks and insurance companies extensive data and services regarding new and used vehicles. Our data covers regional as well as global perspectives'.
