Snapdeal Buys Silicon Valley Startup Reduce Data
Indian online marketplace Snapdeal has acquired US-based cross-platform ad targeting and management company Reduce Data, for an undisclosed sum.
Snapdeal says the Reduce team, based in Mountain View, CA, will join its ranks and help to build 'a world class discovery platform and associated tools for brands and sellers'.
Reduce's platform uses artificial intelligence, real-time data and other tools, developed by an engineering team led by founder Asif Ali.
Snapdeal co-founder Rohit Bansal says his company is 'always on the lookout for talented people who come with specialized skills that augment its capabilities', and continues: 'Asif comes with seventeen years of rich experience in building web scale technologies, product management and building highly specialized teams focused on a data platform and ad tech products'.
Ali, who started the company in 2012, says he is excited by Snapdeal's record of innovation, and adds: 'We look forward to building world class technology products at Snapdeal and setting new benchmarks for the industry in this space'.
