Indian Hires for Mobile User Data Firm zeotap
Berlin-based mobile user data specialist zeotap has appointed former InMobi VP Neeraj Singh to lead its Advertising division in India. In addition, the company has recruited several new members of staff at its Global Technology Center in Bangalore.
Launched last November by a team who previously worked at Vodafone, IBM and mobile ad tech firm Fyber, zeotap has developed a platform to help telecom operators draw out mobile customer data for use in audience targeting initiatives. The firm is based in Germany, with additional operations in India and the US. Last month, it raised $6.4m in a Series A round of funding, now being used to drive international growth plans and to expand the Bangalore-based tech centre.
Singh (pictured) joins from mobile advertising network InMobi, where he served as VP and General Manager - Global Online and Inside Business, and before this spent seven years at Dell India, latterly as General Manager, Global Segment. Earlier, he held senior roles at Hewlett-Packard, Whirlpool Corporation, Asian Paints and GlaxoSmithKline. Daniel Heer, co-founder and CEO of zeotap, comments: 'Neeraj has a strong track record of helping grow successful businesses and we're thrilled to have him on our team'.
Separately, zeotap has increased headcount in its Global Technology Centre in Bangalore with recruits from companies such as eBay, VMWare, Adobe, Oracle, Ola Cabs and Vizury.
