Gartner Acquires Software Analyst Capterra

In the US, IT industry researcher Gartner has acquired Arlington, VA-based business software analyst and advisor Capterra. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 1999 by former JP Morgan Technology Associate Michael Ortner (pictured), Capterra offers an online service that helps connect buyers and sellers of business software. The service is used to find and compare virtually any kind of software ranging from CRM and marketing automation to project management and training.

In a statement, Gartner said that the acquisition is consistent with its growth strategy to invest in developing products and services that help clients make the right technology-related decisions.
