RPA Becomes dataSpring, Adds Assets from New Parent
Tokyo-based panels and technology company Research Panel Asia (RPA) is changing its name to dataSpring, following its acquisition by Marketing Applications Inc. (MApps). MApps will retain its name in Japan while merging its overseas assets into dataSpring.
The combined company, created by a stock swap deal in July, will offer market researchers and end clients a package including global sample (4 million plus panellists in more than 35 countries), full service, and a proprietary survey programming and tabulation tool. Panel coverage includes Japan, China, Korea, the US and the UK
MApps CEO Ikuo Hagino and RPA Chief Masahiro Takanohashi (pictured) say the integration of the two firms and their assets into the new entity will continue over the next year, with an updated panel book and new web site due for launch.
Takanohashi says of the launch: 'When Mr. Hagino and I first discussed the idea of a merger, we immediately realized the possible benefits. The industry is becoming commoditized and more competitive - we believe our technology and improved operational capability will mean a better online research experience for our valued clients. We can't wait to show the industry what a great partner we will be'.
The new company's web site is at www.d8aspring.com .
