RetailNext Buys Mobile Personalization Specialist Pikato
San Jose, CA-based in-store big data analytics specialist RetailNext has acquired mobile marketing personalization software firm Pikato for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 2013, Chicago-based Pikato offers a platform through which to deliver personalized shopping experiences - including time-sensitive offers, coupons and product information - via any mobile channel.
As part of the deal, Pikato's co-founder and former CEO Jesus Sanchez (pictured) becomes Head of Targeted Marketing & Engagement at RetailNext. Sanchez says that once integrated into RetailNext's analytics platform, the Pikato solution can trigger relevant, targeted communications from in-store and out-of-store data about shoppers, their shopping journeys and shopping behaviour.
Alexei Agratchev, co-founder and CEO of RetailNext, adds: 'RetailNext delivers trillions of data points from over three billion anonymous shopper visits annually, and with the addition of Pikato, those data points now empower the delivery of relevant, personalized communications and promotions to shoppers as they shop. Combined with RetailNext's deep in-store and shopper insights, we expect the engagement solution to expand and better support the needs of omnichannel retailers and shoppers'.
