Appier Raises $23m for More Expansion in Asia
Taiwan-based cross-screen advertising technology firm Appier has raised $23m in a Series B round of funding, which it will use to further expand in Asia, and to strengthen its R&D team.
Founded in 2012, Appier uses artificial intelligence (AI) and big data to target relevant information to specific audiences on the most appropriate screen. Headquarters are in Taipei, with additional offices in Singapore and San Francisco.
The firm's new funding round has been led by UOB Venture Management Pte Ltd, Sequoia India, JAFCO Asia, TransLink Capital and MediaTek Ventures, and brings the total raised to date to $30m.
Chih-Han Yu (pictured), CEO and co-founder of Appier, comments: 'We are living in a post-mobile era: the era of cross screen. Artificial intelligence is the best approach to resolve this complexity and make cross screen easy. In fact, advertising is just the beginning. We believe in the future our AI can help businesses solve a variety of difficult analytical problems'.
