Unicom to Buy IBM Data Collection Suite
Software company Unicom Global has agreed to buy IBM's Data Collection suite of products, which allow survey design, management and analysis. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Offering both an on premise and a software-as-a-service (SaaS) option, the suite enables users to conduct all phases of the survey process and deliver surveys over any channel, in multiple languages, from any location. Users can design questionnaires and incorporate multimedia; manage complex samples; view results as they come in; and analyze the final data - alone or alongside behavioral data. Surveys can be deployed in many different modes, including online, mobile, phone, face-to-face, and on paper.
Following the buy, IBM Data Collection will be renamed Unicom Intelligence and become part of the firm's TeamBLUE business, which was formed following several other recent Unicom acquisitions from IBM.
Corry Hong (pictured), founder and President of Unicom, comments: 'The world's leading market research companies depend on the IBM Data Collection suite of products and we will continue to expand and enhance the offerings to adapt to the latest technologies'.
