Former Obama Analytics Chief Joins CBS Radio
Former Obama presidential campaign analytics chief Michael Simon has joined CBS Radio as Senior Advisor to the broadcaster's Data Analytics team.
CBS Radio, which is part of CBS Corporation, owns and operates 117 radio stations in 26 markets, and reaches nearly 70 million consumers nationwide each week. Simon (pictured) previously established and managed the in-house Analytics department for Barack Obama's presidential campaign, served in the Obama Administration, and founded data science consultancy HaystaqDNA. He is a regular media commentator on big data, politics and business intelligence, and has been a guest speaker at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and the World Economic Forum of Young Global Leaders.
In his new NYC-based role, Simon will work closely with senior management to enhance CBS Radio's overall data analytics capabilities, while also creating new data-driven ad products and strategies for polticial campaigns, candidates, and related committees and organizations.
He reports to company President Andre Fernandez, who comments: 'Michael is one of the foremost experts in data analytics whose expertise will quickly elevate our efforts in transforming our vast collection of user information into more meaningful business applications. With the 2016 election race underway, now is the ideal time to develop new efficiencies across our data management platforms and business-to-business application tools.'
