Dutch Research Firm DVJ Hires UK Managing Director
Utrecht, Netherlands-based research firm DVJ Insights has appointed Simon McDonald as Managing Director in the UK, where he will work alongside existing Commercial Director Roy Patel to increase the firm's presence in the market.
Founded in 1996 as a music research specialist, DVJ now offers a full service, with an emphasis on branding, communications, media and shopper research. The company has its own panels in Europe, as well as virtual shopping and packaging research facility MediaLAB. A year ago, the firm opened an office in London, led by Patel, who previously served as Lightspeed Research's VP of Sales and Business Development, EMEA.
McDonald (pictured) previously worked at InSites Consulting as Business Director, Media and Entertainment, helping build the UK office across different sectors. Prior to this, he owned media research consultancy Firefly Research, was UK Managing Partner at The Leading Edge, and Research Manager at The Financial Times. Earlier, he was a Director at Ipsos, having begun his research career as an RE with Whitbread.
Lucas Hulsebos, CEO of DVJ Insights, describes McDonald as 'an important hire' in the UK market, to help the compay continue its growth in the coming years.
