SSI Buys Instantly
Research data solutions and technology firm SSI has acquired LA-based Instantly - whose services include panels and product concept testing - for an undisclosed sum.
Originally set up as uSamp in 2008 by GoZing founders Matt Dusig and Gregg Lavin, Instantly now offers a portfolio of solutions including product concept testing; Shelf Score, which provides a measure of consumers' intent to purchase recently launched products; and a range of other mobile-based solutions. The firm has more than 200 employees in the US, Europe and Asia.
SSI says the acquisition will add to its own people, panel and technology services, already boosted by its 2015 acquisitions of the assets of Australian panel MyOpinions and New Zealand's SmileCity, from their parent company PermissionCorp; and MRops, which supplies end-to-end research operations services to research agencies and consultancies.
Instantly CEO Alan Gould describes the acquisition as a 'great fit' because of both firms' focus on technology and customer service. SSI CEO Chris Fanning (pictured) adds: 'We continue to be focused on building large, robust panels globally, and leading-edge technology solutions that enable faster access to respondents, with particular focus on mobile. Combining Instantly with SSI will create attractive scale economies and accelerate our industry-leading product development roadmap with respect to online and mobile-driven solutions'.
