MRC Endorses Media Monitors' Radio Spot Data Service

US broadcast monitoring and verification service Media Monitors has received re-accreditation from the Media Rating Council (MRC) for its Radio Spot data service.

MRC Endorses Media Monitors' Radio Spot Data ServiceMedia Monitors tracks radio commercials and newspaper ads, and provides sales and marketing tools for broadcast TV, cable, media research firms and ad agencies. In 2009, the firm became the first radio monitoring company to be awarded accreditation by the MRC for its Radio Spot service, which records and analyses thousands of radio spots every week on stations in North America, and enables subscribers to not only see what spots ran and when, but also hear the spot in the context of the actual programming.

MRC CEO George Ivie comments on the re-accreditation: 'We congratulate Media Monitors for maintaining this important industry standard of quality for the Radio Spot service, and for extending the scope of what MRC considered, which allowed us to accredit radio spots as brief as fifteen seconds in duration for the first time.  This clearly demonstrates Media Monitors' commitment to quality, and to adherence to the most rigorous industry measurement standards.'
