Former TNS UK CEO Maureen Duffy Made NatCen Trustee
London-based not for profit organisation NatCen Social Research has appointed former TNS UK CEO Maureen Duffy to its Board of Trustees. Former UK Statistics Authority CEO Dame Jil Matheson and chartered accountant Stephen West also join as Trustees.
London-based NatCen focuses on social research to help government and charities understand social behaviour and inform policy. She began her career at ad agency JWT. Matheson was National Statistician, Head of the Government Statistical Service, and CEO of the UK Statistics Authority from 2009 until her retirement in 2014, and she has chaired both the OECD's Committee on Statistics and Statistical Policy and the UN Statistical Commission; and West has more than twenty years' experience as divisional and group finance director of multi-site, multi-national corporations. Currently a Non-Executive Director of the Institute of Food Research (IFR), he chairs the strategy Board for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales for the East of England, and he will chair the NatCen audit committee.
Chair of the Board of Trustees, Professor Sir Robert Burgess says the new Trustees are 'a welcome addition', adding 'considerable research, financial and marketing expertise to the Board'.
