ShopperTrak and FootFall Launch Global Traffic Index
Sister agencies ShopperTrak and FootFall have launched what they describe as the retail industry's first Global Traffic Index, tapping their vast database of retail behavior to provide insight into the number of shoppers visiting stores and shopping centres.
Owned by fire protection and security specialist Tyco, US-based ShopperTrak offers a footfall counting solution and in-store consumer behavior measurement solution; while in the UK, FootFall provides retailers and retail property owners with technology, services and retail analytics solutions to study customer traffic in their stores. The new Global Traffic Index combines the two companies' services, to enable retailers and shopping centres to benchmark performance and understand trends in various markets around the world; and provides access to geographical traffic trends to support real estate decisions.
Nick Pompa, COO of FootFall, claims the index will serve as 'the de facto standard' on retail traffic, while ShopperTrak CRO Kevin Kearns says the launch is the first of many solutions that will benefit brick-and-mortar retailers and shopping centres.
