Kantar Health Launches App for Health Outcome Measure
In New York, Kantar Health has launched a mobile survey app that collects qual and quant insights from patients, to enable researchers to understand the associations between daily disease-related experiences and health-related outcomes.
Patients with rheumatoid arthritis were invited to participate in a seven-day pain diary pilot study using the new app. Having downloaded it, they were asked to rate the presence and severity of fifteen pain dimensions, along with pain intensity. Users also uploaded pictures, videos and captions helping to illustrate their pain experience.
Brian Mondry (pictured), Global Head of Digital Innovation, says as a result, the company was 'clearly able to see the ebbs and flows of pain throughout the week'. He comments: 'Additionally, the ability to upload pictures enabled us to see the true effect of pain on their lives - from their interactions with their children to feeling overwhelmed by household chores'.
