Viacom Promotes Gordon to EVP, Data Strategy
In the US, broadcast and cable company Viacom has promoted Bryson Gordon to the role of Executive Vice President, Data Strategy.
Gordon (pictured) joined as SVP of Data Strategy last August after a decade at Microsoft, where he led various consumer marketing, product management, and business incubation teams, and helped develop segmentation for the Surface discipline. More recently, he oversaw Viacom's data-driven ad product Vantage, which targets ads and predicts which content will perform best for viewers of the group's TV stations. Earlier this month, Viacom announced a partnership with American Express to develop an ad targeting product called 'Vantage Intent, powered by AmEx', which will provide insights about consumer purchase intent across television, digital and social media.
In his new role, Gordon will oversee Viacom's Marketing and Partner Insights group, along with the firm's integrated marketing and social media products. Kern Schireson, EVP, Data Strategy & Consumer Intelligence, comments: 'Under Bryson's leadership, both the Data Strategy and Marketing & Partner Solutions teams made exponential advances in how we support and add value to our industry-leading data-driven marketing capabilities. Bryson is a smart, dynamic leader who has not only brought great value to clients, but who has also attracted a diverse set of world-class talent to Viacom'.
