TNS Interest in NFO
According to reports in the marketing press, Taylor Nelson Sofres has once more confirmed its interest in acquiring NFO Worldgroup (part of the Interpublic empire). Earlier this month, TNS had ruled itself out of the acquisition race.
The group is reportedly in discussions with Interpublic but warned that there 'can be no assurance that any transaction will be forthcoming'. Discussions are based on a price below the US$500 million price level which has been previously quoted.
In reconfirming its interest, the group said any acquisition would be funded by debt and that it would not be making a rights issue to its shareholders. NFO has been the subject of takeover speculation for some time with Aegis also thought to be interested.
