Cision Names New CEO
Media intelligence and communications specialist Cision has appointed Kevin Akeroyd as Global Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Peter Granat who has moved into the role of Chairman of the Board.
 Cision, formerly known as Romeike, helps marketing and PR professionals identify key media and influencers and offers access to a platform called Social Influencer Search which monitors both traditional and social media. In 2014, the firm merged with PR software provider Vocus and then acquired social media listening and engagement software specialist Visible Technologies, and UK-based media intelligence firm Gorkana. In May, business information firm Innodata agreed to acquire the assets of and rights to media monitoring business Agility, part of PR Newswire, when the latter was sold to Cision.
Akeroyd (pictured) joins with more than 25 years' digital, social media, and mobile marketing experience. Most recently he was General Manager and SVP at Oracle Marketing Cloud, where he helped develop the business in 29 countries globally. Before this, he held senior leadership positions at companies including Data.com, Acxiom, Salesforce.com, RR Donnelley, and Jigsaw.
Under Granat's leadership, Cision has grown from $130m in revenue to more than $630m in revenue, and has completed five acquisitions in the last two years.
