SpotX Boosts Video Targeting Offer
US-based video management platform SpotX has introduced a range of mobile app data points, to boost its capabilities for in-app video targeting.
The firm's platform offers ad serving and programmatic enablement technology, along with a range of monetization tools for desktop, mobile and connected devices. Publishers use the platform to understand buyer behavior, and manage access and pricing.
The newly launched features allow advertisers to buy against app store data, including app ratings and download numbers. These metrics have been added to other targeting options in the SpotX platform, such as registration demographics, device type, location, and IAB content category.
Allen Klosowski (pictured), VP of Mobile & Connected Devices, says the additional data has a range of practical applications for both the buy and sell sides, including enabling advertisers to more easily and accurately identify premium apps based on numbers of downloads and user ratings. 'In-app mobile video ads are about to experience a rapid ascent', he opines. 'We expect in-app inventory to overtake mobile web in all markets by the end of the year, with greater targeting abilities and more parameters to understand brand associations set to be key drivers'.
