Census Bureau to Publish Data on Entrepreneurs

The U.S. Census Bureau is preparing to release results from its first-ever Annual Survey of Entrepreneurs.

The survey forms a supplement to the Bureau's Survey of Business Owners, conducted every five years as part of the economic census. Statistics available will include selected economic and demographic characteristics for businesses and business owners by gender, ethnicity, race and veteran status. Data can be split by sector for the US as a whole, by state and for the 50 largest metro areas.

Public release of the statistics will be at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, September 1st, preceded by a two-day embargo for members of the media to view the data.
