Funds and Senior Hire for Scalable Qual Firm Remesh
In New York, AI-based market research software firm Remesh has closed a $1m angel investment round, with backers including Schlesinger Associates CEO Steve Schlesinger; and has appointed Matt Gershner as EVP of Sales & Marketing.
Remesh's technology allows users to conduct focus group-style conversations with large numbers of people and analyze results in real-time. Other investors in this round include Charles Stack, Founder of Books.com; Steve Potash, CEO of Overdrive; and global startup accelerator Techstars.
Schlesinger says the company provides a scalability that has not been seen in MR before, and comments: 'I am excited about the future of artificial intelligence in the marketing research industry, and I think Remesh has built a powerful new tool in data collection'.
Gershner (pictured) brings eleven years of strategic business development experience in MR firms. Most recently he spent two years as VP, Strategic Partnerships at Lightspeed Research, after a brief spell at Borderless Access. Before this he spent eight years at Research Now and eRewards as Director of Client Development and Director of Enterprise Initiatives, respectively. Earlier employers included Radio City, Ticketmaster and Fastnet.
Remesh CEO and founder Andrew Konya says of the appointment: 'We are fortunate to have brought on board someone with Matt's skills and industry experience to help drive rapid growth in the marketing research industry.
