Funds for Natural Language Data Query Firm Hyper Anna
Sydney, Australia-based data interrogation software firm Hyper Anna has received a $AUD 1.25m investment, to help develop its natural language-driven data analytics solution, and launch it in the USA in 2017.
Funds come from Westpac's venture capital arm Reinventure and from AirTree Ventures, and Hyper Anna says it will be used mostly for hiring talent. The company established in early 2015 by current CEO Natalie Nguyen and CTO Sam Zheng, both of whom worked previously at analytics firm Quantium. The senior team (pictured) is now rounded out by former Suncorp actuarial analyst Kent Tian as Chief Data Scientist.
Hyper Anna's technology, currently on beta release, allows users to interact with large volumes of data via any device, using natural-language questioning through voice, text or email. The software runs on Microsoft's Azure platform and interfaces with data in applications such as Salesforce and Google Analytics - any other data can be loaded separately.
