Ziff Davis Buys Everyday Health
Tech publisher and Ziff Davis has agreed to acquire health information portal and marketing solutions provider Everyday Health for $10.50 per share in cash, valuing the company at around $465m. Ziff Davis is the Digital Media division of Internet services and media firm j2 Global, Inc.
The transaction requires shares representing more than 50 percent of Everyday Health's common stock to be tendered, and is subject to regulatory approvals and other conditions.
Ziff Davis focuses on the technology, gaming, entertainment and lifestyle verticals, with brands including IGN, PCMag, AskMen, Speedtest and Geek; it also delivers advertising, performance marketing and licensing solutions to clients worldwide.
Everyday Health operates a number of well-trafficked health and wellness sites, and applies analytics expertise to deliver highly personalized experiences and engagement solutions. Just two weeks ago, it struck a deal with healthcare research and online physician community Sermo, creating what the partners describe as 'the largest US physician panel in existence'.
