OFTEL Work for MORI
UK agency MORI has been commissioned to undertake Oftel's (Office of Telecommunications) residential tracker survey for 2003/4. MORI previously conducted Oftel's residential tracker research between 2000 and 2002.
'Oftel's research is used to inform and test policymaking decisions, enabling consumers to make better-informed choices, as well as to assess the effectiveness of competition,' explains MORI research director Alex Bollen. 'A robust methodology is therefore critical. MORI has addressed this by utilising face to face CAPI (computer assisted) interviews and applying a rigorous four stage sampling process in order to ensure a representative sample of households.'
MORI will interview at least 2,100 residential telecoms consumers every quarter, across Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The findings will help Oftel to assess consumer awareness and behaviour in the UK telecoms market, and to gauge the degree and success of competition across various telecoms market sectors.
