IBM Watson Launches IoT Consulting Practice
IBM Watson has launched a new Internet of Things (IoT) consulting service, staffed by 1,500 consultants, data scientists and design and security experts at its IoT headquarters in Munich, Germany and in eight other IoT centres in Asia, Europe and the Americas.
Watson is IBM's flagship big data platform, using natural language processing and machine learning. Watson IoT Consulting Solutions will integrate its IoT Platform APIs and technologies, including cognitive, analytics, mobile, security and cloud capabilities, together with consulting and ongoing support. Its staff will focus on helping clients tap into massive amounts of unstructured data - such as videos and sounds - to gain insights, and explore new IoT innovations.
Harriet Green (pictured), General Manager, IBM Watson IoT, Commerce and Education, comments: 'The Internet of Things is making an enormous impact on our lives and helping to spur even deeper levels of innovation for those developing the connected devices and products of our future. IBM is helping knock down the barriers to getting started with IoT, making it accessible for clients as they begin their digital transformation'.
