New Venture for Vision Critical Founder
Andrew Reid, the founder of Canadian research tech firm Vision Critical, has launched a company called VC LABS, to develop software which will extend the value of insight communities. He will be leaving Vision Critical's exec team, but will remain as a shareholder with a seat on its Board.
Reid (pictured) launched Vision Critical in 2000, with the aim of developing new digital technologies to improve the research process. The firm's software platform enables brands to build secure, online communities of thousands of customers, from whom they can gain insight on an ongoing basis. His new firm, based in Vancouver, BC, has been launched in collaboration with Vision Critical, to develop applications that help clients boost the value of their communities, and enhance the member experience.
Vision Critical CEO Scott Miller says with the recent launch of Vision Critical's upgraded platform and open architecture, this is the perfect time for Reid to focus his 'entrepreneurial drive and creativity' on the new venture. Reid himself comments: 'My passion is in building companies from the ground up. After launching Vision Critical sixteen years ago and seeing its accelerating success and growth, I'm ready to start a new venture. VC LABS will develop new solutions, complementary to Vision Critical, that help innovative brands make the most of their communities'.
