PwC Buys Infrastructure Intelligence Firm SIG
In Australia, management consulting giant PwC has paid an undisclosed sum for Strategic Intelligence Group (SIG), a specialist in infrastructure and urban regeneration.
Melbourne-based SIG collects stakeholder, employee, customer and competitor intelligence, and offers advice to help businesses and government agencies align their business plans and strategies. The firm's predictive models are used to assess the value new infrastructure can deliver, and PwC says the buy will give its clients around the world access to methodologies used by SIG on some of the largest public infrastructure and urban regeneration projects in Australia and New Zealand.
As part of the deal SIG's MD John Marinopoulos (pictured) will join PwC as a Partner, while the firm's eight staff will join PwC's Infrastructure and Urban Renewal team. Commenting on the acquisition, Marinopoulos said: 'The sustainability of our cities is a challenge that is front and centre for governments and policy makers around the world. When integrated into PwC's total service offering, the tools SIG has developed will provide clients with a lifecycle solution to guide planning, design, financing and delivery of infrastructure projects'.
