Salmon Buys Digital and eCommerce Firm Eperium
WPP's eCommerce business Salmon has acquired Netherlands-based digital and eCommerce consultancy Eperium. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Eperium is headquartered in Amsterdam and employs more than 200 people in Europe and India. The firm offers usability and interaction studies to understand how the consumer moves through an online retail site. In addition, it helps clients select eCommerce platforms, optimise their shopping sites for eCommerce applications, and streamline order processing. For the year ended 31st December 2015, unaudited revenues were EUR 8.5m.
The company's offer will be integrated with Salmon's digital consulting, design, delivery and support services, which it provides from offices in the UK, China and Australia. In a statement, WPP said the acquisition gives Salmon access to the northern European and Indian markets. Eperium CEO Gertjan Schaefers (pictured) commented: 'We are delighted to become part of the Salmon and wider WPP families. The new structure allows us to offer a much wider range of technology solutions to clients, not only across Northern Europe, but globally through the Salmon network. Salmon's reputation and work with some of the world's leading brands is second to none and we are excited to now be part of the Salmon team'.
