Mathias Becomes Target Data President
Chicago-based marketing services firm Target Data has promoted former Acxiom / Merkle exec Michael Mathias to the role of President, overseeing its service offerings, and tasked with increasing its operations and enterprise-focused client acquisition strategy.
Target's platform merges clients' first-party data with third-party household data to help them understand who their most valuable customers are. Modeling is used to identify prospect audiences which are then activated through cross-channel marketing campaigns, including direct mail, e-mail, programmatic display and mobile. Mathias (pictured) joined the company last August as Chief Strategy Officer, with more than 25 years' experience in growth strategy, database and digital marketing, and customer relationship marketing. Most recently he served as MD of Thomson Reuters firm FindLaw; before this he was VP, Financial Services at enterprise data and analytics firm Acxiom; and EVP, Agency Services at Merkle.
Ross Shelleman, founder and CEO, comments: 'We brought Michael into Target Data because of his stellar record of accomplishment of accelerating high-growth companies. He has experience building successful organizations, knows the data-driven marketing ecosystem inside and out, and understands the inner workings of large enterprises. His contributions to Target Data and our tremendous staff have been invaluable to our growth as an organization'.
