Passive Mobile Data Added to TouchPoints Canada Study
Manchester, UK-based mobile research tech firm RealityMine has added automated passive mobile data to its TouchPoints Canada study, enhancing its insights into how Canadians use their mobile devices.
The TouchPoints syndicated product provides contextual and behavioural analytics through data collected on mobile devices. In 2015, UK professional advertisers body the IPA granted RealityMine the rights to use the TouchPoints name and logo in markets worldwide. The survey examines mobile data to understand the interaction between devices including TV, mobile, radio, PC and games consoles, as well as the role of OTT, video viewing and other media. Resulting data collected via RealityMine's TouchPoints Canada survey is available to customers through Metis and other third party platforms such as Nielsen IMS and Telmar.
The firm has compared the TouchPoints results with media usage data from news site the Toronto Star, and Jim Fahey, Director of Research at Star Media Group, says the similarities in mobile web usage patterns between the passive measurement from the TouchPoints sample and the census data from the Star's internal measurement is 'very encouraging', particularly for the advancement of more passive digital measurement.
The firm, which was co-founded by Garry Partington and Rolfe Swinton (pictured), is online at: www.realitymine.com .
