MARU Group Names New CFO
In the UK, market and customer insights group MARU has promoted Heather McRae to the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO), as it pursues an acquisitive growth strategy.
MARU, which was founded last year, initially acquired eDigitalResearch (now known as Maru/edr), then Vision Critical's North American Research Consulting division (now called MARU/Matchbox), and earlier this year it bought survey technology platform Usurv (now MARU/Usurv). The group is led by former Synovate/Ipsos Global CEO Ged Parton, and is backed by private equity finance company Primary Capital Partners.
McRae joined eDigitalResearch at the beginning of last year, having previously held senior financial positions at services company Alpha Airports Group, recruitment company Harris Hill and ad services business Cheil. She began her career at PwC. In her new role, she replaces Steve Ducat, who has now left the company 'to pursue other opportunities' after sixteen months in the position.
Commenting on McRae's promotion, Parton said: 'I am delighted to announce the appointment of Heather to our senior team. Heather has proven to be an outstanding asset to Maru/edr and I have no doubt that she will continue to add value to the group as we pursue our ambition of becoming a leading player in the global research and insights industry'.
