Lithium to Acquire Jive's Online Community Business
In the US, social media management and online community solutions provider Lithium Technologies has acquired Jive Software's external communities business, Jive-x, for an undisclosed sum.
Jive Software provides interactive Intranet and external community solutions that connect 'people, information and ideas'. Its Jive-x social community software is used to analyze the customer journey - from discovery and product research, to support and advocacy. Lithium says the acquisition combines the companies' technologies and customer bases, enabling it to deliver a broader set of community features and capabilities for all customers. After selling Jive-x, Jive Software will focus on its employee-focused collaboration software.
Rob Tarkoff (pictured), President and CEO of Lithium, says Jive-x customers will now get access to the firms' 'cumulative knowledge and the best innovation of both products', and adds: 'We will continue to offer the Jive-x solution and are committed to providing continued, excellent support for the customers and the platform'.
