RAIT Buys GfK's Baltic Custom Research Operations
Full-service agency RAIT, which is based in the Baltic Republics of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, has acquired GfK's custom research operations in the region, excluding the GfK Retail and Technology arm. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
RAIT was established in 1993 and is the largest independent research company in the region. The acquisition sees GfK's 25 staff members joining the RAIT team, and bringing it to a total of 40 staff working in the three offices. RAIT Group CEO Kaspar Janes says the integration of the two companies in the Baltic States will form a 'very strong market player'.
RAIT will be the official preferred partner of GfK in the Baltics. Mara Taurina (pictured), Executive Director responsible for GfK operations in the Baltic States, has been named Managing Director of SIA RAIT Custom Research. Commenting on the deal, Taurina said: 'I am pleased that we have managed to find a general agreement with RAIT because this company provides excellent opportunities for our business in the Baltic region and therefore fully meets our needs'.
