Worldpanel Upgrades UK Shopper Motivation Offer
In the UK, Kantar has launched Worldpanel Plus, promising its 'biggest sample yet' of smartphone users providing insight into their shopping motives and behaviour.
Kantar Worldpanel's 3,500 staff use continuous monitoring, advanced analytics and customised solutions to provide purchase behaviour insights in 60 countries. Using Worldpanel Plus's proprietary Shoppix app (pictured), panellists can record their purchases and the motivations behind them in real time, including photographs of their receipts - and the app can trigger surveys based on these to assess why they made their purchase decisions.
The division currently collects over 64 million data points a year in the UK alone, and Worldpanel Plus will deliver insights spanning 'all' retail channels and outlets using data from up to 80,000 shoppers. The new service will extend the depth of coverage in markets including sporting goods, toys and tools.
Pete East, Deputy MD of Kantar Worldpanel UK and Ireland, says: 'We have built a strong position in the marketplace by giving our clients a truly comprehensive understanding of the British consumer. We believe that Worldpanel Plus is a transformative product. The breadth of information which this new panel will provide will support brands, manufacturers and retailers in manoeuvring through a dynamic business environment and allow them to make bolder and more intelligent business decisions'.
The service is online at www.kantarworldpanel.com/worldpanelplus .
