AQR Launches Online MR Glossary
The UK's Association for Qualitative Research (AQR) has today announced the launch of a comprehensive online directory of research terms and definitions. The glossary is one of several new features on the AQR web site.
Glossary entries range from marketing-specific definitions, such as 'animatic', 'mapping' and 'NLP' to more widely-known but often misused terms, including 'focus group' and 'sugging'.
Fiona Jack, Chair, The AQR, commented, 'With the variety of qualitative research techniques available, understanding what the terminology means can be confusing. For instance, it is the popular belief that 'focus groups' are the same as 'group discussions' when, in their true form, this is not the case. This glossary should go some way to resolving that confusion and help clients and researchers speak the same language when developing projects'.
The glossary has been compiled by a number of AQR members. Other new features on the site include online booking for AQR training courses and events, and ordering of AQR-supported books, plus a novel and innovative jobs page.
The AQR site is at www.aqr.org.uk
