Changes at the Top for Cheskin

US strategic consultancy Cheskin has announced the retirement of principal Betty Ann Korzenny and a change of role for co-founder Felipe Korzenny, who is the newly appointed Professor of Communication at Florida State University but will continue as a consultant to the company.

The Korzennys founded multicultural marketing research firm Hispanic & Asian Marketing Communication Research, Inc. (H&AMCR) which merged with Cheskin in Dec 1999. Felipe will continue to provide in-depth understanding of multicultural markets to a large range of clients built up over the past 20 years, in his new role as Co-Founder and Senior Consultant.

Betty Ann, formerly Executive Vice President and COO of H&AMCR, will retire from Cheskin in August to pursue her personal interests and spend more time with her family. Over the course of her career she has collaborated with clients to sharpen their insights into diverse US and international cultures and open new market opportunities.

Cheskin's multicultural practice will be developed by a group of senior strategic directors and managers with an average of 15 years experience in Hispanic and multicultural markets, groomed and mentored by Betty Ann and Felipe. The group includes Carolina Echeverria, Partner; Ricardo Flores, Carlos Santos, and Adrien Lopez Lanusse, Strategic Directors; and Stephen Palacios, Director, Cheskin New York, as well as a cadre of research and project managers.

'Transitions always bring opportunity', explains Christopher Ireland, Cheskin CEO. 'And because Betty Ann and Felipe are consummate professionals, this one should be smoother than most. They've trained an amazing team of progressive, brilliant leaders to follow in their footsteps. And Felipe's continued involvement assures us of strong market guidance in our growing consulting business. I'm enormously grateful to count them both as friends, as well as partners'.
