Farm Journal Buys Market Research Data Service
In the US, agricultural sector information and media company Farm Journal Media has acquired Market Research Data Service (MRDS), whose owner and CEO Matt Yaske has joined Farm Journal as Senior Data Architect. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Yaske set up MRDS in 2004 and the two firms have been working in partnership for the past decade. Through the acquisition, Farm Journal will expand its data analytics capabilities and integrate proprietary MRDS algorithms directly into its own Farm Reach database. The deal also includes MRDS' database of golf course, lawn-care, landscape and greenhouse/nursery professionals - Turf and Ornamental - and expands Farm Journal's team of data professionals who acquire, cleanse and interpret market information to help agribusinesses understand and target their customers.
Yaske says the deal brings together the industry's most trusted data with the best data analytics talent in the marketplace. Matt Morgan (pictured), SVP, Digital and Data, says the buy is the latest in a series of investments in Farm Journal's data science, machine learning and sales activation capabilities.
