YouGov Expands in India with New Mumbai Office
YouGov has opened a new office in Mumbai, where it has appointed Deepa Bhatia as General Manager, responsible for introducing the firm's capabilities to the market. She is also tasked with growing the India consumer panel from its current 41,000 members.
The new office has been set up to serve clients in the country with the company's suite of syndicated, proprietary data products, fuelled by the 'YouGov Cube' connected data set. At the Mumbai office, YouGov has also set up its second shared service centre, to support operations in India as well as the continued expansion of its Asia Pacific research network.
Bhatia (pictured) joins with more than eighteen years' media, advertising, content creation and consumer products experience. Most recently, she worked for publisher Conde Nast in Mumbai, overseeing strategy and business development for Architectural Digest India. Prior to this, she held product development roles at L'Oréal, and was latterly in charge of industry benchmarking and improving key performance indicators such as market share and share of voice. In her new role, she will work with Yashwin Pangal, who has been promoted to the role of Manager of Shared Services, Mumbai, reporting to Global Head of Operations, Lynda Vivian.
COO Sundip Chahal comments on the expansion: 'As India takes giant strides to becoming a globalized economy, the demand for research to help businesses become as strategic as they can to keep pace, is ever present. With the world's largest connected data set and a growing panel of some 41,000 members in India already, we're well placed and excited to serve the needs of the market and committed to investing heavily to help the country thrive for the future'.
